KRUS-Zapad Company produces CK-TERM industrial electrical heat tracing (EHT) systems using high-end technology, top grade materials, and a proprietary software package.


KRUS-Zapad Company relies on these resources to perform full-scale design, engineering and generation of solutions to handle freezing problems and maintain the preset process temperature for instrument lines as well.


Impulse lines are routed in outdoor units and unheated rooms and the handled liquid may become solid or turn into a suspension with precipitating crystals in negative ambient conditions.


If water vapour is used as a heat medium, the impulse wiring may get overheated and the contained liquids start boiling, resulting in inaccurate readings. This calls for electric heating elements to deliver heat to impulse lines.


The objective of instrument line heat tracing for KRUS-Zapad Company is keeping the impulse line temperature in normal conditions, during product pumping and stoppage to ensure the required accuracy.

Operation Concept

A СК-TERM series EHT system is based on the following concept:


  • heating cable control using temperature sensors or thermostats (using constant wattage heating cables);

  • use of a self-regulating heating cable;

  • proportional control heat tracing capability.


Heating cables remain operational throughout the
entire specified temperature range (process (including for steam-out), ambient)
indefinitely, with a 20 °C safety margin and have a chemical resistant jacket.
A self-regulating heating cable does not require any additional controls and is capable of temperature regulation due to a semiconductor element.
